when i apply the power

ok when im crusing along and suddenly say if i want to put my foot down if i do it gradually not as in a slow gradual but a gradual power uptake its fine but say if i put the power on hard sometimes i get like a big jerking is this normal i dont hiink it is any ideas what it could be. how else could i put it by jerking its like put the power on and sometimes justs makes a jerk which pulles me back slightly hard to explain any one know of this problem?

what boost are you running? what management etc?

hi mate my e1 has started doing that since i had a 3in exhaust
put on think it needs a remap

you cant remap a standard eI-III ecu.
have you got a boost guage if so what does it read? does it feel like you have run into a brick wall?
if so it could be fuel cut due to boost problems especially after fitting an exhaust and or air filter.

i was told it was the 4 onwards that could not be mapped not the I-III but surely you can put a chip in and map the chip?? as thats what my local jap tuner is planning with mine

I-IV you cant map but yes you are quite right you can chip them it just needs the old eprom removed and a socket soldering in the board in its place.
i have the chips and programmer here as well as the maps

but what you can do is change the early ecu for a later ecu and map that but its a lot of messing around with the wiring looms and not really for the basic diy'er.

to be honest m8 to do it properly you would need to put it in the car road test it and use a datalogger then adjust the map and burn another chip and repeat the process.
it can be very time consuming.
